Guidelines for Authors

 

  1. Authors must submit two copies of their manuscript with complete contact information, including name, address, telephone and e-mail address.
  2. Manuscript must be clearly typed with double spacing with 1” margin in clear and concise English and should be typed only on one side of A4 size papers.
  3. Electronic manuscript is MS Word in 12 font size should also be sent at http://www.ipm.edu/scour  to the editor.
  4. The author’s/co-author’s name should not appear anywhere on the body of the manuscript to facilitate the blind review process.
  5. The manuscript should be accompanied with an abstract of 150 words with a brief biographical sketch of the author/co-author on a separate sheet.
  6. All tables, charts and graphs should be prepared on separate sheet and sequentially numbered as referred to in the text. The source, if necessary should be indicated at the bottom.
  7. Authors should submit manuscripts with a declaration stating that it is original work and should not be under submission with any journal or as chapter of any book.
  8. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject or accept on article for publication.
  9. Editorial decisions will be communicated with in a period of four weeks of the receipt of the manuscripts.
  10. Authors will be awarded with an honorary payment of Rs. 2500/- (US$55 & Euro €40 & £30) following publication.
  11. They will also be entitled to two complimentary copies of the journal and 5 reprints of the papers.

 

 Guidelines to Book Reviewers for Scour

 

  1. Mention the Title of the book, with price (if known) and a brief biographical detail.
  2. The first paragraph should catch the attention of the reader by passing a verdict or highlighting the exciting or disgusting part of the book. Mention the uniqueness or the vacuum the book is filling or any relevant feedback that you feel will carry the reader further on.
  3. Then go on to the summary, (if needed chapter wise) in a sentence or two. Otherwise a fair picture of what the book is going to deliver to the reader (100-150) words.
  4. End the review with conclusion and suggestions.
  5. Your review should be such that it should follow the principle of introducing the book competently by acknowledging the author and helping the reader to decide whether to invest time and money in the book.
