The Career Speaker Series held throughout the year, brings in alumni and industry representatives to discuss various career paths, industries, functions and career-management issues.

Shortly before the Winter recess we organize simulated interviews to help you improve your interviewing skills. The interviews, conducted by MBA alumni, are videotaped so that you can see yourself as a recruiter would see you.

The placement brochure for the class of 2003 contains a short biography of all participants available for employment, is produced and distributed to over 500 companies.. In addition, 250 organizations around the country receive the IPM Ghaziabad student's Résumé Portfolio, containing a one-page résumé for each participant.

More than 30 to 40 companies come to IPM Ghaziabad to recruit each year. They represent a variety of industries and are looking to fill positions all over the country. The process begins with company presentations which provide an overview of the organization, industry and career opportunities. The two-week, on-campus interview period is scheduled in February - but on-campus interviewing is only a small part of the recruiting story.

Each year a large number of job offers are sourced through the IPM Ghaziabad Network. This network includes executives attending programs on campus.

IPM Ghaziabad's extensive Career Services resources include company and industry information such as annual reports and recruitment brochures, as well as industry and geographic data. In addition, the IPM Ghaziabad Centre contains both print and non-print reference material on companies, industries, job search, resume writing and interviewing.

The IPM Ghaziabad MBA Résumé Portfolio, which contains the full-page résumés of all participants who are available for employment at the end of the program, is published in December and is available now online. It provides details of their educational background and work experience, which help you identify those who are well suited to your needs.

Each year we welcome almost 30 organizations to recruit our participants on campus. The on-campus recruitment process is outlined below.

A critical part of your recruiting effort is providing participants with job descriptions and information about your organization. Participants read this information carefully to evaluate their interest in a company and in preparation for an interview. Job descriptions should include position title, responsibilities, qualifications and job location. The literature that recruiters send typically includes annual reports, press releases and product or recruiting brochures. All information is kept in the Career Services Library for reference.

Recruiters provide an initial list of interview candidates by mid January , which is made available to the participants. In general, this initial selection is based on the Resume Portfolio and/or interaction with participants at the company presentation. Participants have the opportunity to 'accept' or 'decline' an interview, which ensures that recruiters are interviewing interested candidates. If any interview slots become available, recruiters may fill them with alternate candidates. The final interview list will be confirmed two weeks prior to the interview date.

Companies may contact participants directly via the contact information found in the Résumé Portfolio. This method is recommended for companies with very specific job requirements.
